We’re back with another installment of Flickr Group Feature and this time we want to know if you’re up for a challenge? We featured a few popular theme and challenge focused groups in our recent blog, From Views to Community – Meet Flickr groups that elevate engagement and today, we have a few more we want to put on your radar. These are some of the groups that Flickr members continue returning to when looking for a way to spark creativity and interact with other Flickr members.

First up, a popular group focused on a very tiny shared purpose, meet Macro Mondays. As with most challenge groups, you can find the group description and rules right up front, on the group overview page, so you can see if this group is a fit for you. One of the key components to a popular Flickr group is moderation and Macro Mondays checks that box. With the right combo of moderation, familiarizing yourself with the group’s rules and purpose, a challenge focused group can help you build new skills, explore different genres and create lasting relationships within the Flickr community. New themes are introduced each week and provide regular opportunities for Flickr members to connect over this beloved form of photography.

Photo a day challenges are another popular photo challenge that isn’t based on a specific theme but rather reminds photographers that taking a moment every single day to snap a photo can improve their craft as well as create a moment of inspiration and clarity no matter how busy the day. These challenges are often called 365 photo challenges and you can find any number of these groups on Flickr. Today, we’re introducing you to this one, 365 Days Project. Check out this group and start sharing your daily captures!

From weekly themes to Saturday themes along with the opportunity to participate in voting for the Photograph of the Month, The Flickr Lounge offers regular opportunities to ignite your creativity and promote engagement with other passionate Flickr members. Make sure to read through the group rules before getting started as many of these challenge groups require attention to proper tagging, certain date requirements and of course following the designated themes. With almost 48K photos in the photo pool, The Flickr Lounge might be just the place for you.

Beautiful Capture is the oldest and largest group we are highlighting in this Flickr Group Feature post. With over 7 MILLION photos in the photo pool and close to 129K members, this is a group that Flickr members keep coming back to for their themed contests and diverse community of photographers. This group began all the way back in March 2007 and has stood the test of time so if you are looking to learn more about challenge or theme based Flickr groups, this well versed community is a great place to get started.
We hope you take a look through some of these groups and find some inspiration and good company along the way. Thanks for being part of the Flickr community!
